club rules and regulations
for the 2025-26 season

Section 1: Player Responsibilities
Players are expected to be ambassadors of Franklin County Select FC, upholding the Club’s values in all aspects of their lives.

Attendance and Punctuality: Players must attend all practices, games, and team functions unless previously excused. Repeated absences without valid cause may affect playing time.

Preparation: Players must bring all required gear to every session, including uniforms, shin guards, water, and training equipment.

Behavior and Conduct: Players must act with integrity, treat others respectfully, and avoid any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination.

Substance Use: Possession or use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or vaping products is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in suspension or dismissal.

Academics: Players are expected to prioritize school. Poor academic performance may result in reduced participation.

Section 2: Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
The Club values parental support and seeks to foster a cooperative environment between families and coaches.

Sideline Conduct: Parents should cheer positively and avoid coaching from the sidelines.

Communication: Concerns should be addressed respectfully through the proper chain of communication, starting with the coach and, if unresolved, the Director.

Financial Obligations: All fees must be paid on schedule unless a formal payment plan is in place.

24-Hour Rule: Parents are encouraged to wait 24 hours after a game before addressing performance-related concerns with coaching staff.

Section 3: Coaching Expectations
Coaches are mentors, educators, and role models. They are expected to:

Develop age-appropriate training plans aligned with the Club’s developmental philosophy.

Prioritize player growth over game results.

Communicate clearly with families and players about schedules, expectations, and roles.

Complete all required certifications, background checks, and concussion training.
-
Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful team culture.

Section 4: Team Formation and Player Placement

Teams are formed based on age, skill level, attitude, and developmental fit.

Tryouts are conducted annually, with evaluations focused on technical ability, tactical awareness, athletic potential, and coachability.

Players may be moved mid-season to different teams to balance rosters or support player growth.

Section 5: Uniforms and Equipment

Players must purchase and wear the official Franklin County Select FC uniform kit for matches.

Practice gear must be clean and appropriate. Jewelry must be removed before participation.

Section 6: Season Structure and Participation

Each season typically includes 5-6 tournaments and regular league matches.

Practices are scheduled 1–3 times per week depending on team and field availability.

Attendance at tournaments is expected unless excused for medical or family emergencies.

Section 7: Communication and Information Sharing

The Club uses TeamReach, email, and official platforms for all communication.

Families are responsible for keeping their contact information updated and checking messages regularly.

Important updates will also be posted on the Club website or social media.

Section 8: Registration, Fees, and Refunds

All players must be registered before participating.

Estimated yearly cost is under $800 and includes tournament fees, uniforms, admin, league fees, and insurance (upon VYSA acceptance).

Refunds are only considered for injury, relocation, or cancelled programs, and are subject to an administrative fee.

Section 9: Travel and Transportation

Parents are responsible for transporting players to and from events.

Carpools may be organized informally among families, but the Club assumes no liability for transport unless otherwise stated in writing.

Players must notify coaches of travel conflicts well in advance.

Section 10: Risk Management and Medical Safety

All players must have completed medical forms, emergency contacts, and signed waivers on file.

The Club enforces concussion protocols in line with U.S. Soccer and VYSA.
-
Players may not return to play after a head injury without medical clearance.
​
Section 11: Insurance Coverage
-
Upon acceptance into VYSA, players will be covered by secondary accidental injury insurance through Players Health.
-
This coverage only applies during sanctioned events and does not include illness, emergency transport, or non-sanctioned activities.

Until VYSA acceptance is final, coverage is based on signed liability waivers and emergency consent in the Player & Parent Commitment Agreement.

Section 12: Disciplinary Action and Appeals

Disciplinary matters are handled by the Director of Competitive Soccer in collaboration with coaching staff.

Actions may include warnings, suspensions, or dismissal depending on severity.
-
Families may appeal in writing within five (5) days of the decision, with final authority resting with the LLC Owner(s).
