Service Description
The Franklin County Select FC Travel Program is the competitive core of our club. Designed for committed players seeking a higher level of training, competition, and growth, the Select Team provides a true club experience rooted in development, leadership, and community pride. Our Select teams represent Franklin County in the Virginia Club Soccer League (VCSL) and other sanctioned competitions across the state. Players are selected through a structured tryout process and are expected to demonstrate dedication, coachability, and a strong work ethic, both on and off the field. Program Structure - Season Length: Fall and Spring (August–November & March–June) - Training: 2–3 team practices per week led by licensed coaches - Competition: 6–8 league games per season + optional tournaments - Player Evaluations: Ongoing assessments for growth and feedback - Team Placement: Roster decisions are made based on performance,, attitude, and positional needs What’s Included - Professional coaching and curriculum-based training - League registration and administrative support - Game-day coaching and referee coordination - Access to supplemental clinics and goalkeeper training - Club training gear and official match kits (uniform fee applies) Player Expectations Select players are expected to: - Attend all practices, games, and team events - Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate respect - Commit to personal and team growth - Communicate proactively with coaches about conflicts or concerns - Alternate or training-only players may be offered invitations to practice based on team needs, space, and developmental fit. Parent & Family Involvement Families are key to our culture. We ask parents to support their players with encouragement, communication, and volunteer support when needed (field setup, travel, etc.). Coaching and tactical decisions are left to the professional staff. Cost & Commitment FCSFC operates with a mission to keep competitive soccer accessible and affordable. Player fees are used solely to cover program costs, including league registration, field use, referees, and equipment. Tournament participation may require additional cost, depending on the team’s goals and schedule. Interested in Joining? Tryouts are held each summer for the upcoming competitive year. Cancellation Policy
By registering for any Franklin County Select FC (FCSFC) event or program, you acknowledge and agree to the following booking policy and participation terms. All participants must register in advance; no walk-ups are allowed unless specified. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is complete only when confirmation is received. Free programs require at least 48 hours' notice if a participant cannot attend. For paid events, cancellations made seven days or more in advance are eligible for a full refund, minus processing fees. Cancellations within seven days are non-refundable unless the space is filled. FCSFC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to weather, field closures, or low enrollment. No refunds are given for missed sessions due to illness, conflict, or behavioral dismissal. All participants and guardians accept full responsibility for the risks inherent in youth sports. You release Franklin County Select FC, its staff, volunteers, and affiliates from liability for injury, illness, property loss, or death occurring during club-sponsored activities, including but not limited to falls, collisions, equipment use, or transport. In case of emergency, you authorize FCSFC to secure medical treatment for your child, understanding that all efforts will be made to contact you and that you remain financially responsible for any care provided. Any known medical conditions must be disclosed at registration. You grant permission for FCSFC to use photos or video of your child in promotional materials unless an opt-out request is submitted in writing prior to the event. You acknowledge awareness of concussion risks and agree that any player suspected of concussion will be removed and may not return without written medical clearance. All participants agree to uphold FCSFC’s code of conduct: show respect to coaches, teammates, and officials; avoid unsportsmanlike behavior; and follow all safety and program rules. Parents and guardians agree to support the learning environment, communicate respectfully, and refrain from sideline coaching or disruptive behavior. Failure to follow these expectations may result in dismissal without refund.
